Clarence D. Darkes Services for Clarence D. (Pappy) Darkes, 82, 2323 Sleepy Hollow Road, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Henderson Henderson VanAtta Johnston Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Cass officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Cemetery. Mr. Darkes died Saturday evening in his home. He was born Aug. 25, 1901, in Nashport, to the late William and Stella (Seymour) Darkes. He was formerly employed with the A.J. Heisey Co. and Pharis Tire and Rubber Co. and was also a retired decorator. decorator. He was a member of Licking Valley Pony Club and the Ohio Pony Pullers Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Taylor) Darkes; one son, Charles of Newark; two daughters: Mrs. Charles (Nancy) White of Newark and Mrs. Karl (Beulah) Vamey of Heath; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Hugh and Urban both of Newark; and one sister, Mrs. Florence Hilty of Larkspur, Calif. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
