She worked as a staff nurse in the Emergency Room at Licking Memorial Hospital for over 25 years, and also assisted Dr. Robert Raker, Licking County Coroner. Following her retirement, she worked as a pharmacy technician at Krogers. She was an active member of Newark First Church of the Nazarene and was a member and past matron of Eagon Chapter 123, O.E.S. She is survived by her loving family: Tom "Tab" (Pauletta) Barrera of The Plains, Kim (Ed) Williams of Mt.

Vernon and Rita (Shelly Dinsbier) Barrera of Newark; grandchildren, Travis Barrera, Trevor Williams, Kevie (Jarrod) Fiecoat, Kerah Williams, and Corey Poches; great-grandchildren, Chad and Brooke Barrera and Emma Fiecoat; uncle, Forrest Sands of Hebron, aunt, Nora Lee Orr of Hebron; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1997; aunt and uncle, Doris and Richard Orr, uncle, Paul Sands. Ray excelled with his faith and playing the organ for the church and was very talented in playing the violin. He loved to be on his computer after he retired. He cared deeply for his brothers and sisters families, and events were always a must.
