in Barbara Jean Barrera HEBRON: A funeral service, celebrating the life of Barbara Jean Barrera, 76 of Newark, formerly of Hebron, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015, in the chapel of the Hebron home of HOSKINSON Funeral Cremation Service with Pastor Jenn Ballenger as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery. She was born May 2, 1938 in Newark, the daughter of Ocie Sands Keller. She was a graduate of Hebron H.S., and LPN program at Licking County Vocational SchoolCOTC.

She worked as a staff nurse in the Emergency Room at Licking Memorial Hospital for over 25 years, and also assisted Dr. Robert Raker, Licking County Coroner. Following her retirement, she worked as a pharmacy technician at Krogers. She was an active member of Newark First Church of the Nazarene and was a member and past matron of Eagon Chapter 123, O.E.S. She is survived by her loving family: Tom "Tab" (Pauletta) Barrera of The Plains, Kim (Ed) Williams of Mt.

Vernon and Rita (Shelly Dinsbier) Barrera of Newark; grandchildren, Travis Barrera, Trevor Williams, Kevie (Jarrod) Fiecoat, Kerah Williams, and Corey Poches; great-grandchildren, Chad and Brooke Barrera and Emma Fiecoat; uncle, Forrest Sands of Hebron, aunt, Nora Lee Orr of Hebron; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1997; aunt and uncle, Doris and Richard Orr, uncle, Paul Sands. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 5 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 108 North 7th Street in Hebron, where Eagon Chapter Order of Eastern Star will have funeral services at 7:45 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Licking County Humane Society.

He graduated from Utica High School in 1956 and went on to serve 4 years in the US Air Force, and then attended the Ohio State University. He had many interests including singing, fishing, softball, basketball (which he played up until the age of 72), and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather.

Stretch is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Neil) Khan of Pickerington and Margaret Brennan (Jim Bakle) of Columbus; one son, Gordon (Kelly) Brennan III of Jersey City, NJ; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Alayna, Ryan, Sarah, and Riley; his mother, Christine Brennan of Vanatta; three sisters, Heather (Richard) Rudbeck of Georgia, Marcie (John) Wolfle of Nashport, and Chris Dolen of Newark; one brother, Michael Brennan of Vanatta; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Brennan wife, Sarah Jane (Kaseman) Brennan; a sister, Emily Cratty-Painter; brothers-in-law, John Kaseman and Skip Dolen. "Ray" Ratai JOHNSTOWN: Raymond C. "Ray" Ratai was born in Johnstown, Ohio on July 24, 1936 to the late Reinhold (Ray) and Edna Lucille Lee. He passed away at the Kindred Health and Rehab Center in Newark Ohio on February 28, 2015. He graduated from Alexandria High School and Ohio Northern University School of Pharmacology.

Ray moved to Scio, Ohio after graduating from college, and worked at the Horton's Pharmacy and later for Rite Aid and CVS Pharmacies until he retired. Ray excelled with his faith and playing the organ for the church and was very talented in playing the violin. He loved to be on his computer after he retired. He cared deeply for his brothers and sisters families, and events were always a must. He is survived by his brother, Glenn (Susan) of Spring Hill, Florida; sister, Nellie Hatfield of Newark; sister-in-law, Ruth Ratai of Pataskala; nephews, Steve (Cathy), Craig (Beverly) and Todd Ratai; nieces, Malinda (David) Klawitter, Michelle (Rick) Johnson, Melissa (Keith) Crump, Jennifer Plummer, and Traci Zigan; son-in-law, Jeff (Cindy) Eckley and Larry Eckley of Scio, Ohio; and his godmother, Elsie Sanders of Michigan.

In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly brother, Donald; and nephew, Dudley. Bob was a graduate of Newark High School, class of 1945, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from White-Westinghouse where he had been a packer for many years. He was a former member of Woodside Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post 85 in Newark. Bob loved the outdoors and his passion was fishing and he loved all animals. He is survived by a sister, Ann E.

Robinson of Newark; nieces and nephews, Doug (Cori) Robinson, Sarah, Scott and Hannah Robinson, Pamela (Tim) Powell, Merilee Scheck, Karen (Ty) Wollard; and many other nieces and nephews. Isabelle retired from Ebco in Columbus and had also retired from Sears at Eastland Mall. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and doing the Dispatch crossword puzzle each day.
