The Advocate LOCAL Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 Deaths and funerals Ralph M. "Macey" Yarnelli April 30, 1929-Dec. 13, 2007 A funeral service for Ralph M. "Macey" Yarnelli, 78, of Newark, will be at 7 p.m.

Monday at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, Newark. Cremation will be afterward. Mr. Yarnelli, a retired laborer for Bucky Brother Concrete and Construction, passed away Dec. 13, 2007, at Licking Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1929, in New Lexington, the son of the late Charles and Minnie (Shipley) Yarnelli. He served in the National Guard. He married Mary L. Halblaub. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Camilla Rose Yarnelli and Tandra Lou Yarnelli, of Newark; five grandchildren, Christina Welch, Nicole Gilliland, Michael Yarnelli, Tamatha McCoy and Randall Scheetz; five greatgrandchildren; six sisters, Glendina Cochran, Della Garey, Maggie Arter, Mable Harris, Florence Wilson and Sandra Wilson; and special nephews, Vick and Bernie Yarnelli. Mr. Yarnelli was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Yarnelli Jr. and Lewis Yarnelli; and three sisters, Frances Vogelmeier, Mary F. Lyon and Helen Arter.

4, 1953-Dec. 13, 2007 A funeral service for Donnajean W. Blaney, 54, of Alexandria, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral Cremation Service, with the Rev. Nancy Millwater officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Blaney died Dec. 13, 2007, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct.

4, 1953, in Newark, to Pauline W. (Severn) Waters, of Newark, and the late Charles Donald Waters. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She worked for many companies in Licking County over the years.

Her most recent employment was with Famous Supply, Dollar Tree and Sears. Surviving are her husband, Richard Blaney; daughter, Andrea Marie Blaney, of Alexandria; brothers and siste James R. (Barb) Waters, of Whitehall, and Thomas H. (Patty) Waters, of Newark; sisters and brother-in-law, Judith A. Armstrong, of Newark, and Joyce E.

Edward died at 10:38 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, a at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville. Born Dec. 31, 1934, in Nashport, he was the son of the late Hugh and Hazel (Reynolds) Swope and was a graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School.

Mr. Swope was an Army veteran, serving in the 8th Infantry Division Company B. He retired in 1992 as a machinist at Rockwell International, Heath, and was a member of the Zanesville Eagles. Surviving are his wife, Marsha A. (Kackley) Swope, whom he married June 16, 1962; one son, Joe (Kendra) Swope of Philo; two daughters, Teresa Putnam, of El Paso, Texas, and Tracy (Mike) Nasser, of Norwich; one sister, Barbara (Richard) Roffey, of Marne; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Swope; three sisters, Donna June Swope, Kay Rakes and Betty Burkett; and one grandchild. There will be no calling hours. Carl E. "Swiney" Swinehart, 82, of Glenford, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at his home, after an extended illness. Swiney was born March 22, 1925, in Glenford, the son of the late Reno and Lenna M.

Trout Swinehart. He was a retired 45-year employee of Central Silica Corp. in Glenford and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, where he had served both as a deacon and later as an elder. Swiney was active in the community, serving on the emergency squad as well as the fire department, where he served as chief for many years.

He also was an activist in the building of the Shelly Park, along with others. Surviving are his wife, Reba (Powell) Swinehart, of Glenford; a son, Terry Swinehart, of Roseville; a daughter and son-inlaw, Bob and Sherry (Swinehart) Souders, of Glenford; a sister and brother-in-law, Robert and Lois (Swinehart) Gutridge, of Glenford; grandchildren, Chad, Chris and Nicole Swinehart, Wendy (Souders) Abram and Brandy (Souders) Hupp; greatgrandchildren, Ashley, Spencer, Cody, Raine and Nova Lee Swinehart, Colton Abram, Ava Seasor, Stephanie and Latasha Vannatter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a greatgrandson, Payton Swinehart. He was born June in Upper Sandusky, son late John and Gertrude Wilder. is survived by his wife school sweetheart of 49 Naomi (Elwell) Wilder; Marti (Joe) Otto, of and Rod (Jaye) Wilder, of Newark; brother, Mike (Donna) Wilder, of Dublin, Ohio; uncle, Gene Shanahan, of Vandalia; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandi Brenner. Larry was a family man with a gift for finding and making friends wherever he went. He had a lifelong interest in sports that began with a great talent on the football field and basketball court at St.

Francis de Sales in the 1950s. A member of several league championship teams, Larry valued his teammates' camaraderie and friendship as much as the championship trophies they won. He discovered his avocation by blending family and sports, beginning with coaching his sons, then going on dedicate more than 35 years to Newark Catholic High School's football program as a coach and scout. A very spiritual man, he was most dedicated to the program's sense of community, closeness of its families and love of the team's Masses and traditions. In his later years, he became his grandkids' biggest fan.

You could always spot him either sitting in his lawn chair on the sidelines or pacing along the track with his cane at one of their sporting events. From track meets to football games, soccer games to volleyball matches from the Midwest to the desert Southwest Grandpa was there offering tips and advice for the next play or round. He enjoyed unwinding while watching the Buckeyes in his easy chair with his favorite beverage, especially when the Bucks were up! He had a knack for the perfect practical joke with his buddies, especially at the YMCA. He was inducted into the Newark Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001 and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 721, 3rd and 4th Degree. Larry spent more than 30 years in the insurance industry.

13, 2007, at LPN Healthcare Facility. She was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Newark, to the late Jeremiah and Ellen (Kerwick) Callahan. Rosella was a U.S. Women's Army Corps World War II veteran and was a member of the American Legion.

She worked as a librarian for many years at The Ohio State University and also with Newark City Schools. Rosella is survived by her son, Michael Joseph Stalego, of Westerville; her daughter and son-inlaw, Ellen and Dr. Brice Morrice, of Granville; and three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Stalego, in 1999; her six brothers; and her three sisters.

4, 1943-Dec. 13, 2007 Funeral services for Maureen E. "Bugs" Knight, 64, of Zanesville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr Chute Funeral Home. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery.

Ms. Knight died Thursday evening, Dec. 13, 2007, at Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. Born Nov. 4, 1943, in Zanesville, she was the daughter of the late David and Hazel (Jenkins) O'Flaherty and was a 1961 graduate of Frazeysburg High School.

Ms. Knight was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting. She crafted clay mushrooms and operated the Morel Market. Surviving is one son, Andy Knight, of Dresden; two daughters, Tracey (Bill) Laughery, and Samantha Knight, both of Frazeysburg; one brother, Pat (Judy) O'Flaherty, of Delaware, Ohio; one sister, Janice Price, of Newark; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Surviving are her husband, Richard L.

Lennington; daughters, Kimberley and Jennifer Lennington; sons, Chad Lennington and Dale Brown, all of Newark; grandson, Tyler Givens; and granddaughter, Ginger Brown; sister, Vickie Edwards; brothers, Thomas, David, Frankie, Benny and Billy Melton, all of North Carolina; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Mark Shoemaker; and niece, Missi Gray, of Newark; and her cousin, Betty Colburn. She was a homemaker and attended Newark Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, David L. (Kathleen) Mathis, of Florissant, a daughter, Susan M. Mathis, of Reynoldsburg; three grandchildren, Angela K. (Troy) James, of Newark, Kristopher D.

(Mary) Mathis, of Heath, and Charles R.L. Mathis, of Florissant, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Evans of Naples, four sisters, Trula Davis, of Newark, Mary (Jonathan) McCall, and Shirley Lipford, all of Marianna, and Linda (C. William) Fox, of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo A. Mathis, on April 23, 1993.
