Rings officiating. Miss Wanda Garrett, sister By HAZEL KIRK After undergoing redecora-tion of the lower floors, the Licking County Museum, 6th Street at W. Church Street, was ready for receiving its most unusual gift. Heirlooms of 1 1 silver, jewelry and other items had been willed to Buckingham House and the Museum, as half of the estate of the late Mrs. Adeline Ragsdale, 326 N.

Broad Lancaster. The gift was in memory of Mrs. Ragsdale's grandfather, Daniel Duncan, who built Buckingham House on Hudson Avenue, while he was a legislator in Washington. He died suddenly on the capitol steps. The house stood just north of Davidson house now the County Museum, on Hudson Avenue.

A committee from the Historical Society went to Lan caster to receive the bequest, which is being shared by the Fairfield Heritage Association of Lancaster, given in memory of the maternal side of Mrs. Ragsdale's family, the Effingers. Work has just been completed on the repapering of the lower floor and halls of the museum, (the window panes, hardware for the doors and nails for which had come across country by oxcart, when the house was built). The living room, done in aqua and white has the same pattern of dado used in the White House. The room is enhanced by three recent valuable antiques, the gift of Gordon Kuster of Columbus.

These are a Hepplewhite desk of beautiful design, having the initials "GH (those of the English cabinet maker of 1788) on the inside of the metal drawer handles, indicating of the bride will be maid of honor. Robert McAlpine will serve his twin brother as best man, and ushers will be David Garrett, brother of the bride and Terry McAlpine, brother of the bridegroom. Creamy Frosting If you want your confectioners sugar frosting to be extra creamy and rich, add plenty of butter more than most recipes call for! But after a cake is frosted with this icing, refrigerate. 'P'0f )-rfc Cm yJ. si KrXT If i I 11 it could be one of the rare pieces made personally by nim; a Hepplewhite table and a Lafayette mirror.

In the same room are two Sheraton chairs rescued from the Blennerhassett home on Blennerhassett Island, near Parkersburg, W. Va. when It was destroyed by fire during the Civil War. A grandfather clock In the room, dated 1700 had been in storage 50 years before it was presented to the museum. Monday Talks Club sponsors this living room, as it was the living room of the Davidson home where the first meeting of the club was held when two of its members reviewed for their friends, their trip abroad.

Draperies in the room are duplicates of those used in Winterthur, the Dupont Home near Wilmington, DeL The dining room has been redecorated, using a blue and gold wallpaper which is a reproduction of an old Oriental tea box design. The Chinese oriental rug, in blue and white, is a gift of seven women interested in the Historical Society. Centering the dining room gifts, a most unusual Servres compote bearing the marking "Chateau de Fontainebleau." The background of the compote is in white, where most of the Servres ware is of a color. The a a 1 collection includes large, heavily engraved silver service, silver flatware and decorative pieces. There are several intriguing icons and crucifixes; and silver loving cups; some bearing the Duncan coat of arms, which was presented to Admiral Lord Duncan (an ancestor) by English royalty.

A miniature sailing ship, exquisite in detail; Japanese prints; and jewelry having precious and semi precious stones are highlights of the bequest. In the furniture are several beautiful chests, tables and Victorian chairs. When the museum visitor tires of looking at the beautiful, he can entertain himself by scanning a map of Newark made in 1854 many important places were only wooded areas then. The Licking County Museum has regular visiting hours with Miss Laura Beggs, curator, in charge.
