Debolt, 91, formerly of Newark, are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Law-Baker Funeral Home with Harold Van-Broakhoven, Ph.D. officiating. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery.

Ms. Debolt, a retired R.N. from Licking Memorial Hospital with 24 years of service, died on Oct. 6, 1997, at Country Court in Mount Vernon. She was born on June 23, 1906, in Utica, to the late Chancey and Zona (Mossholder) Debolt.

Ms. Debolt was a member of the Owl Creek Baptist Church She is survived by a sister, Mary Burkholder of Martins-burg; sister-in-law, Mildred Debolt of Utica; and nieces and nephews. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Friends may call from 7 to 9 today at the funeral home, 34 N. Main Utica.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Owl Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 4044 Owl Creek Church Road, Utica, Ohio 43080. David Bacon Oct. 1, 1997 David M. Bacon, 33, of Orlando, was killed in an airplane crash Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, in a Mountainous area of Lesotho, Africa, while delivering medical supplies to a remote village.

David has served as a mechanicpilot with Mission Aviation Fellowship since 1993, logging more than 2100 hours of flight time. Mr. Bacon was graduated from Asbury College, Wilmore, in 1986 and from Missionary Maintenance Services, Coshocton, Ohio, in 1993. Surviving family includes his wife, Lisa Corbett Bacon, Orlando, daughters, Tiffany, Jennifer and Alyssa; parents, Robin and Judy Bacon of Fayetteville, sisters and their husbands, Sheryl and David Van Earden of Clymer, N.Y., and April and the Rev. Ron Beck of Tampa, maternal grandfather, Julian Priour Jr.

of Corpus Christi, Texas; father and mother-in-law, John and Ann Corbett of Cape Coral, brothers-in-law and their wives, Dr. Steven and Deni Corbett of Orlando, and Jon and Donea Corbett of Newark, Ohio, and Dan and Janon Corbett of Heath, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at the First Alliance Church on Lake Underhill Road, Orlando, with interment to follow.

Friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Osceola Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 1717 Boggy Creek Road, Kissim-mee, Fla. Feb. 24, 1932-Oct. 5, 1997 William H. Patten 65, of Millersburg, Ohio died on Oct. 5, 1997, at the Sunset Skilled Nursing Facility in Millersburg, Ohio following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Alexander Funeral Home, S.R. 39 West, Millersburg, Ohio with the Rev. Karl Stonebraker officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Millersburg American Legion Post 192.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Newark, Ohio and was the son of William H. and Winona (Beall) Patten Sr. On Dec. 24, 1955 he married Patricia Whet-sell and she survives.

He graduated from Newark High School, attended Marietta College and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was with the W.H. Patten Drilling Co. until his retirement in 1989.

He was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church and the Millersburg American Legion Post 192. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, William H. Patten III and Kimberly Patten Mathie, both of Millersburg, Ohio; five grandchildren, Bill IV and Maynard Patten, and Danielle, Brittany and Zachary Mathie; sisters, Lillian Sweeney of Rocky River, Ohio, Sharon Weber of Columbus, Ohio, and Sharla Miller of Newark, Ohio; and aunts, Nelda Grove of Newark, Ohio, and Martha Zimmer of Adams Mills, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Thalia Weber. Tribute Gerald Melick Jan.

28, 1924-Oct. 5, 1997 Gerald L. "Bub" Melick, 73, of 543 S. Main N.E., Newark (Hanover), died at 7:45 p.m., Oct. 5, 1997, at his home.

Mr. Melick was born on Jan. 28, 1924, in Bladensburg, and retired from Sears Roebuck Company of Heath. He was a lifetime member of the Perry Chapel Baptist Church; a member of New Home Lodge 338, Valley of Columbus, A.A.S.R.; Teheran Grotto; Voiture Local 40 and American Legion Post 764. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary W. and Paula Melick of Canal Winchester, and Bobby L. and Jackie Melick of Coshocton; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy A. and, Garland Tolliver of Frazeysburg; four sisters, Donna Selby and Doris Mentis, both of Mount Vernon, Joann Tolliver of Pleasantville, and Patty Fowler of Marne; six grandchildren, Todd Tolliver of Frazeysburg, Tammy Chatter-ton of St. Petersburg, Jason Melick of Columbus, Marsha Dakin of Cincinnati, Adrienne Melick of Canal Winchester, and Michael Melick of Coshocton; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph D. and Gladys Pearl (Dugan) Melick; his wife, Beatrice M. "Bea" (Hardy) Melick, who died on April 2, 1994; and two brothers, Gail Melick and Charles Melick. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 today, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vensil-Orr Funeral Home, 110 W.

Third Frazeysburg. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Knox officiating. Burial will be in Mt.

Zion Cemetery, near Bladensburg. Masonic Services, Grotto Services, and American Legion Services will be conducted at the funeral home beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home Care of Central Ohio, 1435-B W. Main Newark, Ohio 43055.

Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Tribute Nelson Fulton Feb. 24, 1911-Oct. 5, 1997 Funeral services for Nelson Milton Fulton, 86, of Hebron, are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home with the Rev.

John Earhart officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Memory Gardens, Columbus. Mr. Fulton, who retired in 1969 from E.T. Rugg Co.

in Newark, died on Oct. 5, 1997, at his home. He was born on Feb. 24, 1911, in Elkhart, to the late Allison L. and Mary Marie Mitilda (Crow) Fulton.

Mr. Fulton was a past member of the Hebron Christian Church. His wife, Lillian E. (Bower-sox) Fulton, died in 1986 He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Francis and Donna Fulton of Nashport; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Robert E. Zinck of Newark; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Michael A.

(Barbara) Fulton of Newark. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Allen Fulton; and a brother. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at the funeral home, 108 N. Seventh Hebron. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, chapter of choice.

6, 1997, at the Arlington Nursing Home. Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, is in charge of arrangements. Keith Darkes Jan. IS, 1997 Keith F. "Skip" Darkes, 47, died on Aug.

19, 1997, at his home in Springhill, Fla. Mr. Darkes was born in Newark to Bettye (Bowen) Schimpf and the late Thomas F. Darkes. He is survived by his stepmother, Katherine Darkes of Columbus; his wife, Mary K.

(Marice) Darkes; two sons, Jeremy (Erica) Darkes of Florida, and Scott Darkes of the home; a grandson; two brothers, Mike Darkes of Pataskala, and Chuck Schimpf of Newark; three sisters, Dixie Shaw, Judy (Ron) Fry, both of Newark, and Mona (Bruce) Carpenter of Louisiana; mother-in-law, Mae Marice of Florida; six Anne Mendelson, Virginia Schimpf, Iva Vermillion, Charlotte Morris, Sandy Dikomey, and Alice Sleight; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Earl Schimpf; two brothers; and a sister. Area briefs James Sykes Oct. 24, 1920-Oct. 5, 1997 A funeral mass for James D.

Sykes, 76, formerly of Tiffin, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys Church with the Rev. William Rose officiat-. ing, where rosary services will be held at 9:45 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Marys, where there will be military graveside service conducted by the United Veterans Council. Mr. Sykes, who graduated from Junior Home, died on Oct. 5, 1997, at the Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs, N.C.

He was born on Oct. 24, 1920, in Hillsboro, N.C, to the late John P. Sykes and Beulah Powell. Mr. Sykes was a U.S.

Army veteran of World War II. He also retired in 1977 after 25 years as a printer with Hae-fling Printing. His wife, Marguerite (San-Gregory) Sykes, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1943, died on July 12, 1991. He is survived by children, Mrs.

Judy Accetta of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Steven (Diana) Melroy of Newark, Gregory E. Sykes of Tiffin, and Mrs. Leroy (Rose Marie) Eisenhauer of Clyde, Ohio; sisters, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Madden, and Mrs.

Edna Madden, both of Burlington, N.C; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchil-aren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington Tiffin, where wake services will be at 8:45 p.m.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Marys Church, or donors choice. Evelyn P. Sines Nov. 15, 1911-Sept.

30, 1997 Funeral services for Evelyn P. Sines, 85, of Johnstown, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Johnstown Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Rusty Freeman officiating. Burial is at Green Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Sines was born on Nov. 15, 1911, in Hayesville, Ohio, to the late Roy Howard Plenge and Estella Alzoa Finley. She died on Sept. 30, 1997, at Newark Healthcare Centre.

She was self-employed and she served as financial secretary of Johnstown Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. Mrs. Sines was a cosmetology instructor, a state beauty shop inspector, a member of the Pythian Sisters and a Billy Graham Crusade counselor. Survivors include: son, Floyd (Betty) Dawson of Mansfield; sister, Lottie Moreland of Mel-lvern, Ohio; stepson, G. Charles (Anne) Sines of Newark; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Walter Sines, and brother, Cleo Plenge. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crouse-Kauber Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Johnstown. Memorials may be made to Johnstown Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Adams, who retired from the laundry department of Licking Memorial Hospital, where she worked for many years, died on Oct. 5, 1997, at the LPN Nursing Home. She was born on March 19, 1911, in Newark, to the late Steven and Catherine (Subraje) Hornyak.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, and a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Boichan, who died in 1946; and second husband, Bert W. Adams, who died in 1986 She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George F.

and D. Jean Boichan of Newark; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, a sister, and grandson preceded her in death. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at the funeral home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark. Thomas Weaver April 30, 1900-Oct.

5, 1997 Funeral services for Thomas J. Weaver, 97, formerly of New Lexington, are at 1 p.m. Friday at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 447 S. Main New Lexington, with the Rev. William Snider officiating.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Weaver, a retired section hand at New York Central Rail Road and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in New Lexington, died on Oct. 5, 1997, at Ketcham's Nursing Home in Crooksville. He was born on April 30, 1900, in Eighty Cut, W.Va., to the late James W.

and Mary H. (Rhoad-es) Weaver. His wife, Ethel Pearl (Bartlett) Weaver, died in 1956; He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Junior and Rosemary Weaver of Crooksville, and Richard and Joyce Weaver of Massillon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia A. and David Stallings of Pacific Grove, Janet Jewett of New Lexington, and Cheryl K. and Ronald Maurer of Lancaster; 16 grandchildren; 30 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.

Seven sisters, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren preceded him in death. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In the contest, team members identify trees, shrubs, disorders, pests and equipment, complete a pruning practicum and a landscape drawing practicum, make out a sales order; troubleshoot equipment and chemical problems; and take a written test covering the nursery and landscape industry. The 15 states represented in the eastern region are Ohio, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina Lloyd Stough Dec. 3, 1935-Oct. 5, 1997 Graveside services for Lloyd "Mr. Diamond" Neil Stough, 61, of Sunbury, are at 10 a.m.

Thursday in Hartford Cemetery, Croton, with the Rev. Dave Phaneuf officiating. Mr. Stough, a jeweler at Mr. Diamond, died on Oct.

5, 1997, at Grant Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 3, 1935, in Appleton, Ohio, to the late Lloyd C. and Luella M. (Henry) Stough.

Mr. Stough was a member of Lodge 30 Columbus, Scottish Rite of Cincinnati, and the Buckeye State Sheriff Association. He is survived by a brother, Carl Stough of Sanford, Maine; and two nephews, Gaylord Johnson and Danny Johnson, both of Sunbury. A sister preceded him in death. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.
