Mr. McCallister died July 14, 2001, at Ohio State University East Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 23, 1949, in Putnam County, W.Va., to Roberta Thomas McCallister and the late Don Junior McCallister. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. County Historical Society Open auditions for Thistledown Theatre The Thistledown Young Actors Theatre will be holding auditions for a production of "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp" at 2 p.m. July 29, and 7 p.m. July 30 at the theatre, 169 Hudson Ave. Interested individuals ages 19 years old and younger need to bring a non-returnable recent photo and a calendar for conflicts with rehearsal dates. One-day workshop offered by Newark campus The Business and Industry Institute of The Newark Campus, in cooperation with the Midwest Alliance for Nursing Informatics (MANI) is offering a one-day workshop titled "Handheld Technology and its Clinical Applications." The hands-on training session will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 2 28 at the Newark Campus.

The cost of the workshop is as follows: COTC nursing students, $30; students, $60; non-students, $75. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. More than 50 divisions are offered for advanced, intermediate and novice players. Age categories for seniors and juniors in singles and doubles are also offered.

The entry deadline is 9 p.m. Friday. Volunteers sought to clean-up the stream Discover Diving, a Newark business focused on SCUBA diving, will be hosting a clean-up of the stream bed and embankment on either side of the stream between Goosepond Road and The Ohio State University campus at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6.

Arrangements have been made with the city for a timely removal of the rubbish. Discover Diving would like to invite are divers and friends to join in the effort. Mrs. Jones was a former member of the Catholic Women's Club. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Odendahl of Charlestown, four grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; sister, Helen Haluczk of Newark; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville E. Jones in 1994; two brothers; and four sisters.

NATIONAL OBITUARY Ted Berman LOS ANGELES (AP) Ted Berman, who spent 45 years as a Disney animator and screenwriter, working on such classics as "Bambi" and "Fantasia," died Sunday.

He was 81. Berman joined Disney's animation department in 1940 and helped create characters for "Alice in Wonderland," "Lady and the Tramp" and "Peter Pan." He also worked on Oscar nominated films, including "Paul Bunyan" (1958); "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too" (1974); "It's Tough to Be a and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." south of Granville.
