JOHNSTON PHONE 34S.9M4 LOUISVILLE. Ky. (AP) -Louisville area service station operators say Ashland Oil Inc. has raised wholesale gasoline prices 2 cents a gallon, the latest in a series of price increases by major oil companies. Ashland Oil officials could not be reached for comment late Friday at the' firm's Ashland, headquarters, but dealers, who must absorb the higher cost, confirmed the increase and said it puts them in a bind.

"I can't operate at a profit," said Jesse Hogan, an Ashland operator. "I'm sure not going to stay on this corner and pump gasoline for nothing." Ifogan said he would eliminate Sunday hours and move his nightly closing time from 10 p.m. to midnight. Another operator, Vernon Rawert, said his station has given up a dish promotion and if the price squeeze continues, "probably will give up stamps." aro (felTEFE WAITRESS WANTED Apply In Person SPARTA RESTAURANT 16 W. Boring Funeral Home, Thornville, is In charge of arrangements. Col. Robert Hoppe TRIBUTE Tribute to Col. Robert Hoppe, "Our Beloved Bob" whom we loved so dearly. You cannot say you must not say That he is dead he is just away, With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand He has wandered into an unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be since he lingers there.

So think of him faring on as dear In the love of there as the love of here. Think of him still as the same and say He is not dead, he is just away. William, Jack, Susie "Mom" Tribute MEMORIAM In loving memory of our Aunt Etta E. Howarth, who passed away one year ago October 7, 1972. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled, God in His wisdom has recalled, The boom her love had given And though the body slumbers here, The soul is safe in Heaven.

Sadly missed by her niece and husband Mr. and Mrs. Russell Kreager. MEMORIAM In loving memory of our mother, Nellie Stevens, who passed away 5 years ago October 8, 1968. The depths of sorrow we cannot tell, Of the loss of one we loved so well, And while she sleeps a peaceful sleep.

Her memory we shall always keep. Sadly missed by Mrs. Harold Morrison, Mrs. Harold Woolard, Mrs. Cayrol Dixon, Mrs.
